PHOENIX - Starting at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday you can donate to 960 of Arizona's non-profits as part of "Arizona Gives Day."
It's a day of giving that helps Arizona organizations, like Child Crisis Center.
"I did flounder by myself for a long time, and it was rough," Allen Tarrets said.
Tarrets has two children, and after his divorce the state required he take a parenting class.
"To have these resources it's like a gift from God, it really is," Tarrets said.
He turned to Child Crisis Center for help. It's a non-profit that helps support families and create a safe, healthy environment for children.
"It's about the children, and, you know, if you're not willing to work for the children then you're fighting an endless battle, you really are," Tarrets said.
The lessons he and countless other parents have learned at Child Crisis Center are invaluable, and wouldn't be possible without the help of our community. You can give your support during "Arizona Gives Day."
"Arizona gets so much negative press, and to be able to prove to the state and to the nation that Arizona does great things is an important day," said Marissa Theisen with Arizona Gives Day.
It's a way to give back to Arizona's children or any of the other 960 non-profits that are participating.
"We raised over $1 million last year and certainly expecting to do much better than that this year," Theisen said.
