Arizona Game and Fish offering $75K in grants to help teach conservation when hunting

PHOENIX - Arizona wildlife officials are offering $75,000 in grants to organizations that help teach people to consider conservation when hunting.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department announced this month that grant money will be available for local sportsmen's groups or organizations that conduct public programs or events pertaining to hunting.

Doug Burt, an agency program manager for hunting and shooting sports, says the grant will help groups trying to expand introductory hunting programs in their communities.

Burt says the funds will be an investment in programs that show people how to be responsible and ethical when hunting.

Officials say all grant applications must be received by 5 p.m. on July 7.

Applications are available for download on the Game and Fish website or by calling 623-236-7530.
