AAA: The 5 most dangerous Valley intersections

Just in time for the holidays, AAA released its list Monday of the most dangerous intersections in the Valley.

The most accident prone intersection, according to AAA, is 35th Avenue and Dunlap in Phoenix which averaged nearly 150 collisions per year from 2008-2010.

51st Avenue and Camelback, 59th Avenue and Olive, 59th Avenue and Thunderbird as well as 32nd Street and McDowell round out AAA's list.

"Really, be mindful while passing through any intersection, said Michelle Donati, AAA spokesperson. "(Intersections) pose a higher risk and many motorists often forget that."

AAA chose to release its findings now because there were nearly 10,000 accidents in the Valley last year in December, the highest monthly total for all of 2011.

"It's especially important to eliminate distractions whether that be a cell phone or a not so obvious distraction like 'how many more gifts do I have to buy," said Donati.
