4 places in Arizona to send off summer

Summer may be almost over, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t time for one last hurrah at Valley resorts.

1. FireSky Resort and Spa, a Kimptom Hotel
If you’re seeking an adults-only end-of-summer getaway, look no further than FireSky Resort and Spa, a Kimptom Hotel. The AAA Four Diamond property is offering a Tequila and Tanlines package that include deluxe accommodations, a welcome pitcher of margaritas, morning coffee and tea service, hosted evening wine reception and more. Rooms are available from $119 per night.

2. The Phoenician
The Phoenician will round out the summer season Labor Day weekend with a variety of family-friendly activities, from tie dye T-shirt making and smartphone photography, to dive-in movies and s’mores and stargazing. On Saturday, Aug. 30, from 5 to 9 p.m., the AAA Five Diamond’s resort casita lawn will come alive with gourmet food trucks, a children’s Ferris wheel and mind winder ride, carnival games, a magician, caricature artist, tarot card reader, and more. Festivities are for in-house guests only. Room rates start at $159 per night.

3. Westin La Paloma
Head to Tucson and close out summer at the AAA Four Diamond Westin La Paloma. The property will feature various beach party themes through Labor Day weekend, family sing-alongs, poolside games for kids, live music, contests and more. Take advantage of the property’s summer savings package and enjoy room rates from $99 per night plus a $50 food and beverage credit with a two-night minimum.

4. The Wigwam
Make a final summer splash at The Wigwam, a AAA Four Diamond property on Saturday, Aug. 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. Activities include a live DJ, barbecue and drink specials, kid zone with waterslide, inflatables and more. The cost is $10 per person. Room rates are available from $99 per night. There’s also still time to take advantage of the property’s “3-2-1 Summer Fun” package that provides three days and two nights of accommodations for one low price. The package starts at $159 per room for Sundays through Thursdays and $199 per room Fridays and Saturdays.
