TEMPE, AZ - You don't have to go broke trying to feed your family because there are lots of resources around the Valley to help, including the Tempe Community Action Agency .
They offer Tempe residents a free food box that has everything from meat, produce, canned food, even dessert. The food boxes consist of about 35 pounds of food -- enough to feed a family of four for about five days.
The food pantry is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and Tuesday evenings from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
You don't have to have any sort of income requirements, just show up during the open hours with a photo ID and proof of Tempe residency and you will get your box. It is limited to one food box per month per family.
If you're not a Tempe resident, no worries because there are similar services all around the Valley.
Go to the Association of Arizona Food Bank website . All you have to do is type in your zip code to find out the closest food pantry to your area.
