Use your laptop to watch Netflix or Hulu without having to buy additonal equipment

Looking to watch your favorite movies and TV shows without breaking the bank? We've found the perfect solution and you don't even need new equipment!

You know Netflix , Hulu Plus and Amazon are all streaming services that allow us to watch movies and TV shows for a monthly fee. In order to use your TV to view this type of content you have to have a special device like Apple TV, a Roku box, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii or Internet HDTV, in addition to high speed internet access.

If you don't have any of these devices, you can look to your laptop to help out -- as long as your laptop has an HDMI port you are in luck. To watch these streaming services, just take your laptop and connect an HDMI cable going from your laptop to the HDMI port on your TV. Of course you have to have high-speed internet access to watch streaming services regardless of the device you use.

Once that laptop is plugged into your TV, just change your video source on your TV to the HDMI port that your laptop is plugged into. That is all you need to do to watch content from the internet. Whatever is on your laptop will display on your TV and with HDMI not only are you getting a clear picture, but it also takes care of audio.

If you really want to get fancy you can convert your iPhone or iPad into a remote control and that remote will control your laptop.

The app is called HippoRemote and you can download the trial version which is a free stripped down version of the HippoRemote Pro, but the free trial does all it needs to in order for you to be able to control your laptop from your phone. This app acts like a mouse pad from your phone, allowing you to operate your laptop from a distance, but using a wireless mouse that is your iPhone or iPad.
