Save money on getting the kids ready for school with these great weekend deals.

This Saturday, July 27, the Latino Institute is holding a back-to-school fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Metrocenter Mall.

The first 1,000 kids with a parent will get a free backpack and school supplies.

Also, there will be free lunch, health screenings, dental and visual check-ups and even haircuts all day.

Also on Saturday is the first annual "Phoenix Tools-4-School" event.

It's at Lolo's Chicken and Waffles' Phoenix location from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

There will be 2,000 bags of school supplies to give away to students in grades K through 12. Make sure to get there early because the bags are given away on a first come, first serve basis.

Also, kids 17 and younger can get free breakfast.

McDonalds is giving away free backpacks to school-age kids at their Valley restaurants Saturday starting at 8 a.m.

They have 28,000 backpacks to give away.

It's at all of their Valley restaurants excluding the Wal-Mart and mall locations.

Some restaurants are also hosting a fair with free health screenings.
