I like shopping, but only when I can find the best deals.
There is a website that does the comparing for you. It even alerts you when prices drop.
The site is called Pricespider and the goal is to find you the best prices on electronics, like cameras, computers and TV's.
It's easy to use; just type what you're looking for in the search box, or even search by category.
It shows a chart of the price history, along with the current lowest online price and lowest prices in nearby stores.
Plus the site shows you customer reviews.
You can even get an alert when the site finds an even lower price, but you'll need to register to use that feature.
So here's an example.
I searched for an Epson printer and Pricespider found it new for $189. When I searched through Google Shopper, the cheapest price I found was more than $250.
Pricespider shows you can get a Toshiba TV new for $200. When searching online the cheapest price I found for the same TV was $250.
But wait, I found it online refurbished for $172.95. So Pricespider found the best price for the new TV, but not refurbished.
Overall I found the site very helpful. It's a good place to start since it gives you an idea of what you can expect to pay, so it's definitely worth a try.
