Music can really change my mood--especially when it's free.
I found several sites that let you listen to any song you want on your computer and your phone and you don't have to pay a dime.
The first site is Spotify.com .
You actually have to download this one on your computer, or you can get the free app on your phone.
Just type the artists' name in the search bar, and you're ready to groove. You can choose the specific song you want, or listen to the whole album.
Another option: click "start radio" to listen to similar songs in that category. The site also lets you create libraries, similar to iTunes.
Plus you'll get recommendations on albums that you may be interested in, based on other songs you like.
Grooveshark.com offers you pretty much everything you get on Spotify, but you can also be an international DJ by creating a station with your favorite songs.
Then you click "start broadcasting" and listeners around the world can listen to your station.
Another thing I like about Grooveshark is that it's web based, so you don't have to install anything on your computer.
I've been grooving to Pandora for a while.
Again, you don't have to download anything to your computer, and there is also a free app for your phone.
Pandora lets you create stations with your favorite artists, but you don't have the choice to actually listen to who you want.
The site uses your favorite artists to find similar music.
With all three sites you will hear ads if you choose the free version. But that's no different than the radio. And for me, it's worth it, because I love music!
It's also a great way to hear from artists you may have never discovered--and it's all for free.
