Being out shopping with children can sometimes be a challenge as they get bored easily.
To help with that, I found some free apps that will keep them entertained. Perfect for parents, these apps are both fun and educational.
"Read Me Stories" is a great app to keep younger kids reading on the go.
A new eBook is added every day and it can actually help kids learn to read.
Each word is highlighted as the voice reads the story. It also has an option to turn off the voiceover feature so children can reach at their own pace.
All kids seem to love movies.
"PopcornFlixKids" is a free movie streaming app for iPhones and Androids and it gives kids hours of popular movies like "Popeye," "Superman" and "Jack and the Beanstalk."
Just search through their list of movies and you can either add them to your queue or watch the movie immediately.
The best part, there are no limits on how many movies you can watch.
Kids don't have to like sushi to like this next app.
It's called "Sushi Monster" and it's a great way to keep the kids working on their math skills. The goal is to add or multiply numbers that equal the sum that the sushi monster is looking for.
This app is only available on the iPhone.
"Spelling Test Free" is another app that will help keep kids fresh for school.
You can create your own spelling test on one device and share it with another device. You can even check up on your child's scores and see how they're doing. Even more, you can record words for your child to hear and then spell.
Another app that caught my eye is the "NASA App HD." Kids and adults may have interest in this one because there are thousands of images and videos in the app's library.
There are even tweets from astronauts and space mission information to help kids learn all there is to know about space and their favorite planet.
There are hundreds of free educational apps in your phone's app store. Keep checking your phone's app store to find new apps.
