Keep your home cool with free trees from APS

The Valley's summer heat will be here soon and that means more money out of pocket to keep your house cool.

There are a few ways to help you save. If you are an APS customer you can get some free trees to help shade your home and help lower your electric bill.

APS has a Shade Tree workshop for their customers. If you attend one of these APS workshops, you will learn how to properly plant trees to maximize shade on your home to help keep it cooler. Keeping your home cool by using trees will help reduce your electric bill.

In the workshop you will also learn how to properly care for these trees. The workshops are free to APS customers who live in a single family home.

The workshops last about an hour. After you are done with the workshop, you will get two or three free desert adapted, low water use trees to plant at your home.

How many trees you get depends on the age of your home.

There are four workshops you can sign up to attend. You can go to the APS website to sign up.
