Freebie Friday: Free backpack, comedy show and school supplies

It is that time of the week to see what you can get and do for free.

McDonald’s is giving away backpacks on Saturday, July 26 starting at 8 a.m. The first 100 kids to show up with their parents at each McDonald’s location will get a free backpack. Plus you can get a free Go-gurt low fat strawberry yogurt too.

McDonald’s is planning on giving away a total of 25 thousand backpacks on that day. All Valley McDonald’s location will be participating with the exception of the Walmart and shopping mall locations.

Head to the Tempe Improv and get some laughs and help other for a great deal. On July 31 and August 7 for the 8 p.m. shows the first 100 people who donate 5 canned food items will receive free admission into those shows with a two minimum drink requirement. So not totally free, but at least it helps your wallet. Both of these shows are adult only so you must be 18 years or older to get in and all the food donations will go to St. Mary's food bank.

Need school supplies for your child and can’t afford to buy them, you may be in luck. Phoenix Tools 4 School is holding their 2nd annual event on Saturday, July 26 at Lo Lo’s from 6 a.m. until 9a.m.  At the event kids can get school supplies, like notebooks, pens, backpacks and other school related supplies. It is on a first come first serve basis so be the early bird to guarantee you will get those needed supplies. Plus they will also be serving breakfast at the event and that is free too.
