The weather is gorgeous, perfect time to ride your bike.

With cycling comes bike safety, and now you can get it and all sorts of the necessary gear for free!

The City of Mesa has a Bike and Ped Program that offers workshops to learn about basic bike techniques, rules and equipment.

After your free hour and a half class, you leave with all sorts of goodies, including a helmet, safety vest, bike lock, front and rear lights, a bell, and even a patch kit.

The free workshops are once a month so perfect time to really start enjoying this weather and being safe at the same time.

Upcoming classes:

  • Wednesday, November 16, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Dobson Ranch Library, 2425 S. Dobson Rd.
  • Wednesday, December 14, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Main Library, 64 E. First St.
