There are so many kitchen gadgets on the market claiming to save you time and make your life easier. You know those late night infomercials taunting you to buy their products, claiming if you do your whole life will improve. Clearly this is not the case.
For the past nine years I have been testing out products for the Smart Shopper segment and I can tell you about a handful that actually worked and made my life easier. I found a new gadget by accident the other day. It is called the
Nordic Ware Eggs n Muffin.
Often we are chasing our tails to get to where we need to be in morning and eating a good healthy breakfast becomes the least of our priorities. With this little container you can make an egg and muffin in minutes. I take mine to work with me and place some uncooked eggs and an English muffin in my lunch bag.
We have access to microwaves, but no stoves to cook on, so this container solved a huge problem for me. You can put one or two eggs in the container, add your spices or ingredients. I put just a little bit of black pepper and sprinkle my version of parmesan cheese.
Close the lid and put it in the microwave for 45 seconds. Make sure the eggs are not runny, if they are put them back in the microwave for a few more seconds to cook thoroughly. Once your eggs are cooked, open the container flip it over on top of your muffin or bread and you are done.
The Nordic Wave Egg N Muffin I found at Target in the appliance section for $3.49. That is what makes this little container so practical because it is very reasonably priced, so simple to use and keeps me eating healthy instead of stopping at a drive thru to pick up an egg and muffin.
One more product I recently have been testing out is the
These are BPA Free, freezer, microwave and dishwasher safe. For $19 you get a set of 11 storage containers 2/ 19 ounces, 3/ 32 ounce, 3/ 16 ounce and 3/ 8 ounce. What makes these containers different is the lids are attached to the containers.
Think about it, how many times have you been cleaning up after a meal and you are putting the leftovers away and you can't find the darn lid to the container. Well these lids are part of the container. It such a simple thing but saves me a lot of time looking. The other thing is my cabinet is so organized now that I have these new containers.
To purchase the Mr. Lid containers I would avoid buying it from their
website. I have read many complaints that the site tries to add items to your order in a sneaky way. So don't order them from the website. I have seen them at Walmart and Target and similar stores.
Of course none of these containers are necessities. I just want to share these things because they have made my life easier and in the long run saved me money to.
