Making pancakes can sometimes be a little messy and if you're making a lot it can take a while.
The Perfect Pancake Pan i s supposed to make it easier.
The claim is that you can make four perfect pancakes at the same time without oil or even a spatula.
But will it really work?
Let me try it before you buy it.
I mixed my pancake batter and got right to cooking.
The instructions say to first pre-condition the pan with oil or nonstick cooking spray.
Then you pour 1/4 cup of batter into each well of the pan and close the lid while it cooks.
You know it's ready to flip when the edges are brown and the pancake bubbles.
At first I was a little confused because obviously if the lid is closed you can't see the pancakes so I opened the pan to peek and it didn't disturb the pancakes at all.
So I flipped the pan and after about a minute, I actually had four perfect pancakes.
And when I made more, I didn't have to use more oil.
The next test ... Over easy eggs.
The process was similar.
I cracked four eggs into the pan and closed the lid.
The instructions say to peek at the eggs every two to three minutes and you'll know it's ready to flip when the top appears to be solid white.
After you flip the pan, you remove it from the burner and let it sit for a minute.
I was presently surprised because the eggs turned out great.
And when it was time to make more, clean-up was extremely easy. I simply wiped the pan with a wet cloth and that's it.
I bought the Perfect Pancake Pan for $14.99 at Bed Bath and Beyond and am impressed that the Perfect Pancake Pan actually worked.
I give it a thumbs up.
