PHOENIX - I love pies... So much that sometimes I can't control myself, and I end up eating the whole thing!
My Lil Pie Maker is supposed to sate your cravings by letting you make your own individual pies with ease.
But will it work? Let me try it before you buy it.
The claim is this: all you need is pie crust and your favorite filling, and you’re ready to bake.
If it's that easy, we may be eating a lot of pies.
My Lil Pie Maker comes with the bake ware, four silicone discs, a recipe book and the top and bottom cutter.
The instructions say to put the discs at the bottom of each pie mold. Then, you roll out your dough and use the bottom cutter to create your pie base.
Next, just press the dough into the molds. You can used pre-made dough or make your own.
Put in your favorite filling, and then use the top cutter to make your design for the top of the pie.
Now you're ready to bake! Just put the pie maker on a cookie sheet and throw it in the oven.
We used My Lil Pie Maker several times. We made peach pies, apple pies and we even tried a vegetable quiche from the recipe book.
The fruit pies turned out great, and they were really easy to make.
The recipe for the quiche called for bread instead of pie crust, and although it wasn't very appealing, My Lil Pie Maker did the job.
My Lil Pie Maker definitely lived up to its claim of making little pies quickly and easily.
I bought it at Target for $10.99 plus tax. I give this product a thumbs up!
