PHOENIX - The Arizona State Fair is coming to town this weekend and there is so much to do, but the price can really add up unless you know when to go.
Head over to the fair on Friday. It's opening day and you can snag a discount on admission.
From noon to 5pm you can get in for just a $1.
It gets better with free admission on Thursdays from noon to 1pm.
Plus encourage the kids to read by promising them free rides. If they read three books, they will get three carnival rides for free.
There is a maximum of three free rides per student and they must fill out the read and ride book form to get the freebie.
If you don't mind going early, you can save every Saturday and Sunday because admission is just $2 dollars before 2pm on those days.
You can go anytime and still save. Just take your receipt from any Valley grocery store showing you bought three dairy items, any brand of milk, cheese and yogurt.
That receipt will get you $3 off your regular fair admission.
Once you're in the door, don't let the rides break you. You can buy unlimited ride wristbands on Thursdays for $30 and Sundays for $35.
There are other discounts, even for parking!
You can park in the lot on the SW corner of 19th Avenue and Encanto for just $5. The regular cost is $10.
