Lemons smell good, taste good, and can save you a lot of money around the house when it comes to cleaning.
Dab lemon juice on a cotton ball or sponge and leave it in the fridge for a few hours and that will get rid of those smelly odors.
You can also freshen your garbage disposal by chopping lemon peels and running them through the disposal.
What about cutting boards? Chopping garlic, onions and other foods can leave cutting boards smelling rather foul. Freshen it up by cutting a lemon in half and rubbing it all over the board. Then rinse it off and let it dry.
Speaking of stinky onion and garlic, you can rub your hands with a lemon wedge to and leave your hands smelling fresh. Make sure you don't have any small cuts though - that lemon juice can sting.
Lemons are also a great way to clean out the inside of your microwave. Just put three tablespoons of lemon juice with 1 1/2 cups of water in a microwave safe bowl.
Microwave the mixture on high for five to ten minutes to let the steam condense on the inside of the walls.
Then use an oven mitt to remove the hot water from the microwave and then take a sponge and wipe the sides of the unit.
And I can't speak from experience, but I've heard that lemon juice can speed up the natural blonde highlights that blonde hair gets from the sun.
