Surprise Police say a single-vehicle crash early Friday morning is the cause of a power outage impacting hundreds of APS customers.

The rollover crash occurred around 2 a.m. near 113th Avenue and Avenue of the Arts, police say. After the vehicle left the roadway, the car hit a water hydrant and an APS power box.

Some minor flooding occurred due to hydrant damage and more than 600 APS customers nearby were without power for several hours because of power box damage.

Around 10:30 a.m., the APS website showed the power to be back on in the area between Union Hills Drive and Bell Road and between 115th Avenue and 111th Drive.

There is no word on whether the driver, the only person in the vehicle, was injured.
