Police confirmed Thursday night a 14-year-old Surprise girl missing since Friday was found safe and sound in California.
Surprise Police Department spokesman Bert Anzini said Vaghe Cain was found around 6 p.m. by deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
Anzini said deputies were called to a residence in Aliso Viejo when the father of a 17-year-old male became suspicious about the amount of time his son's new girlfriend, Vahge, was spending in his home.
The father asked Vaghe for her parent's contact information and became suspicious when she refused to give it to him. The father then called the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
Vaghe and her boyfriend fled from the residence before deputies arrived, but were found a short time later not far from the home. Deputies learned Vaghe's identity and discovered she was a runaway.
Anzini said police learned that Vaghe has known her 17-year-old boyfriend for approximately one year and the two met while playing Xbox Live.
Before leaving her home on Friday, Vaghe made arrangements with her boyfriend for him to drive to Surprise and bring her back to his home in California.
Vaghe was in good health and is currently being held by the Orange County Sheriff's Department until she can be reunited with her family.
The incident remains under investigation. Anzini said no charges are pending at this time.
