PD: 2 West Valley crimes may be connected

Surprise police are asking for the public's help identifying three men who attempted to rob a jewelry store in Surprise Tuesday.

Police said the robbery happened around 2:10 p.m. near Bell and Litchfield roads.

Surprise police spokesman Bert Anzini said during the robbery attempt, one of the three men displayed a gun and told a jewelry store employee he was robbing the store.

Anzini said the employee displayed his own gun to the robbers causing all three suspects to flee from the store.

Another robbery was committed a short time later at a pharmacy in Peoria. Police believe the same three males are responsible for both crimes.

The first suspect is described as a black male with a lighter complexion, approximately 18-22 years old, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and wearing a red Cincinnati Reds baseball cap, black sweatshirt, dark jeans, and dark sunglasses.

The second suspect is described as white or Hispanic male, about 6 feet tall, wearing a black ski mask, black pants, and black shoes.

The third suspect is described as a darker skinned male.
