SURPRISE, AZ - Authorities say two children who ran away from their homes in the West Valley were found safe Monday afternoon.
Maricopa County Sheriff's spokesman Joaquin Enriquez said 14-year-old Serenity Escobedo and 11-year-old Christian Brown are now back home with their parents.
The two friends were initially reported missing Thursday.
Serenity ran away from her home in Waddell, and Christian ran away from his home in Surprise.
Enriquez said Glendale police received a call about two children in the area of Glendale and 115th avenues around 2 p.m.
They matched the description of the children on a flyer, Enriquez said.
