SURPRISE, AZ - A 2-year-old was airlifted to a local hospital after she fell into a pool in Surprise Thursday night, according to police officials.
A spokesman for the Suprise Fire Department said the incident happened at a home near 163rd Avenue and Jomax Road in Suprise.
Sgt. M.J. Donovan with the Surprise Police Department said a parent found the girl and began performing CPR. The child was flown to Phoenix Children's Hospital for evaluation.
The child was breathing and responsive while en route to the hospital, he said.
No other details were immediately released.
