Massage parlor owner, Deborah Schmidt, accused of running brothel in Sun City near Young Life group

SUN CITY, AZ - A Peoria woman accused of running a brothel out of her Sun City massage parlor is out of jail.

Deborah Schmidt, 39, denied knowing anything about the illegal sex acts, according to Maricopa County deputies.

The massage parlor, located near 103rd and Grand Avenues, has an "Out of Business" sign on the front door.

The parlor is located in the same business complex as the Christian youth group, Young Life.

Deputies said they received a complaint that the massage parlor was doubling as a brothel and so they sent an undercover detective to investigate.

The detective said that 25 minutes into the massage, the masseuse offered to perform a variety of sexual acts, ranging from $200 to $300, according to court records.

Deputies then entered the building and questioned the two employees.

The women told the detectives that Schmidt taught them how to set the prices and that she would also receive a share of the profits.

Schmidt is charged with maintaining a house of prostitution, receiving earnings of a prostitute and illegal control of an enterprise.

A man at Schmidt's home told ABC15 that the accusations were false.
