Police seeking suspect in Peoria grocery store robbery

PEORIA, AZ - Police are looking for a man who robbed a grocery store in Peoria on Saturday and threatened employees with a handgun.

The man reportedly walked into a grocery store near Peoria and 67th avenues on Saturday morning and placed several items on the customer service counter. When an employee approached him, he lifted up his shirt, showing a handgun, and demanded money from the register.

The employee gave the man the money, and the man ran out of the store headed westbound, police said.

The suspect is described as a 50-year-old white man with balding grey or brown hair, about 5 foot 2 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green t-shirt, jeans and dark-colored casual type shoes.
