Authorities say a 17-year-old is in custody after he shot and killed another juvenile in the desert near Lake Pleasant.

Peoria police said four people were target shooting a half-mile south of State Route 74 on Castle Hot Springs Road. The two males got into a fight, and the 17-year-old shot the other male several times.

The suspect then took off in the victim's car, police said. The 2002 Ford Taurus was later recovered.

Investigators are still searching for another person of interest as part of the case. He's been identified as 18-year-old Wesley Considine. Anyone who may know where Considine is at is encouraged to contact Peoria police at (623) 773-8311.

The 17-year-old male was booked into the Durango Jail on charges of robbery and first degree murder.

Police said the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident where the suspect and victim knew each other and there is no public safety risk.
