PEORIA, AZ - Peoria police's SWAT team arrested two people on alleged drug possession charges Wednesday after serving a search warrant, according to Public Safety Information Officer Amanda Jacinto.
Alethea Alcorn, 41, and Librado Rodriquez, 36, were booked after police found marijuana, crystal meth and drug paraphernalia, Jacinto said. The home also violated multiple city codes.
Alcorn's 14-year-old daughter was also at the house when the Peoria SWAT team arrived, and she was placed in the custody of Child Protective Services, according to police.
The arrests came as the result of a months-long grassroots effort to better Peoria communities, a top goal of Peoria Police Chief Roy Minter. By working with residents, officers hoped to reduce crime and clean up the neighborhood.
