PD: Woman steals identity in Peoria, cashes $7,000 in checks

PEORIA - The Phoenix Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who stole a victim’s identity and forged $7,000 in checks.

On May 31, a vehicle parked outside Mountainside Fitness center in Peoria was burglarized with the victim’s purse being stolen, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The woman’s purse had her personal banking information and her identification.

Officials said over the course of two days the suspect used the stolen items and went to seven different Arizona Federal Credit Union banks to cash seven checks each in the amount of $1,000. The suspect used the drive-through tellers to make $7,000 in fraudulent transactions on June 3 and June 4 around the Phoenix metro area.

She’s described as a white female with blond hair, in her 30s with a small build.

She was driving a vehicle similar to a 2013 white Chrysler 300.
