PEORIA, AZ - Police said they are working with the parents of a 2-year-old little boy who was found wandering in a trailer park in Peoria unsupervised Friday afternoon.
Police had been searching for the boy's parents since 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon when they got a call from a concerned resident in the area of 79th and Peoria avenues, said Amanda Jacinto, spokesperson for Peoria police.
One of the toddler's parents was located Friday evening and authorities were still trying to figure out why this child was left alone, said Jacinto.
The caller told police there was a toddler roaming the area with no shoes or parental supervision.
Authorities said the child was uninjured and placed the child in CPS custody. As of Saturday morning, the child was still with Child Protective Services.
The child and his parents have not been identified. There is no word on what, if any, charges the boy's parents are facing at this time.
