Hegstrom said the the teen and his two friends were in the water celebrating his birthday. The victim's floatation device apparently burst, sending him into the water.
The sheriff's office dive team searched the lake Friday night and plan to resume the search Saturday morning.
The victim's family told deputies the teen has a history of seizures. Hegstrom said the official cause of death will be determined by medical examiners once the body is recovered.
