Firefighters were called to a home near Thunderbird Road and 75th Avenue on Saturday, a Peoria Fire Department spokesperson said.

One firefighter suffered a sprained ankle after slipping on a tile roof, officials said. He was helped down from the roof and is being treated.

The single-story home sustained heavy damage from the fire, but no other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
