Five police officers were treated for minor injuries after a mobile home fire in Peoria, officials said.

Peoria police said the officers were at the home near 69th and Peoria avenues around 8 p.m. Monday doing a well-being check on a woman when they spotted the smoke and tried to go inside to get the woman out.

Authorities said five officers were overcome by the flames and had to be treated for smoke inhalation, and one of those officers suffered minor burns to the head and hair.

A second mobile home caught fire, and a man was pulled from that home, police said. He was also treated for smoke inhalation.

Officials said the fire was so severe that investigators were not immediately able to determine whether a woman was actually inside the home.

On Tuesday, officials said the woman was not inside the home and that they are actively investigating her whereabouts.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
