Lakes, and roads, to popular destinations were busy through-out the Memorial Day weekend in Arizona.
Heavy traffic was reported on roadways, and lakes over the weekend were even closed down after they hit full capacity on both Saturday and Sunday.
On Monday, Saguaro Lake was closed down to vehicles unless they were carrying boats.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office stepped up patrols on area lakes.Deputies targeted drunk boat operators and underage drinking.
"Everybody wants to have a good time. The word sorry just doesn't cut it sometimes, when you break the law, everybody's sorry after-the-fact," MCSO Detective Doug Matteson said. "If they had just taken the time to think about the laws they would not have put themselves in a position where we have to take action and make an arrest."
On Friday, Memorial Day traffic caused major backups , and everyone headed north was asked to give themselves extra time.
Anyone headed to the Grand Canyon was also asked this weekend to plan ahead and expect much larger crowds than normal.
