PD: Armed shoplifter on the loose after robbing Peoria Target store

PEORIA, AZ - Authorities are searching for an armed shoplifting suspect who robbed a Peoria Target store Tuesday night.

Peoria police spokeswoman Amanda Jacinto said the incident happened around 5:30 p.m. near 75th Avenue and Bell Road.

Jacinto said employees caught the man shoplifting and when they tried to stop him, he pulled out a weapon and then took off in his car.

Officers were able to chase the man to a neighborhood near 55th Avenue and Thunderbird Road.

Jacinto said police postponed their search for the suspect until Wednesday morning.

She said no one is in danger or police would not have called the search off.
