LITCHFIELD PARK, AZ - A Litchfield Park teenager was charged with arson after she set a notebook on fire and put it under her bed Thursday night, according to Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office officials.
The sheriff’s office originally sent deputies to a criminal damage call at the girl’s house at Claremont Street and Litchfield Road, Deputy Joaquin Enriquez says.
After the deputies arrived at the house and were speaking to the homeowners about the call, the 15-year-old girl lit the notebook on fire and hid it under her bed, Enriquez says.
The girl told sheriff’s deputies what she did after the fire started to spread, he says.
She has been charged with arson of an occupied structure and seven counts of endangerment, according to Enriquez.
