A Litchfield Park school bus driver is under investigation after he dropped a kindergartner off at the wrong stop.

According to her dad, 5-year-old Vivian Ramirez was riding home by herself for the first time. She is a kindergartner at Litchfield Elementary School.

When Vivian was a no-show at her regular bus stop Monday, her dad, Noe Ramirez, says he was "freaking out."

Noe called the school to learn another parent had found his daughter after she was dropped off at a stop nearby. They reunited 20 minutes later.

"My daughter was like any little kid, scared and shaking and nervous at the same time," Noe Ramirez said.

According to the Litchfield Elementary School District, safety is of the utmost importance, and the bus driver did not follow procedure for kindergarten drop-offs.

A district spokeswoman says the driver also should have immediately contacted the transportation department, which he did not do. She stresses safety is of the utmost importance and the district is investigating what happened to Vivian.
