A 12-week-old stray kitten is now up for adoption after he survived being injured by a weedwacker, according to the Arizona Humane Society.

Vinny the kitten suffered several injuries after landscapers accidentally clipped him while they were trimming a hedge in Laveen.

Vinny was taken to the Humane Society's trauma hospital with extremely infected wounds.

Veterinarians originally anticipated that they would have to amputate Vinny's leg but he pulled through.

After several weeks of honey wrap treatments and medication, AHS says Vinny has recovered and is ready for adoption.

AHS says Vinny is "extremely outgoing, playful and social." He is available at the Sunnyslope Campus at 9226 North 13th Avenue in Phoenix.
