Police: Woman killed, 2 men hurt in Thursday morning crash in Laveen

LAVEEN VILLAGE, AZ - A woman has been killed in an early Thursday morning crash in Laveen Village, according to authorities.

According to authorities, two vehicles collided at the intersection of 51st Avenue and Estrella Drive after 3 a.m.

Police said a male driver was traveling westbound towards the intersection and didn't stop at the stop sign. That driver collided with a vehicle traveling northbound causing it to roll over.

Police said a woman in the westbound vehicle was ejected after the crash. Police believe the vehicle rolled over her causing her death.

MCSO Lt. Brandon Jones identified the woman as 44-year-old Elizabeth Valenzuela. He said her husband, Manuel, suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition at a local hospital.

The driver of the vehicle that hit Valenzuela was also taken to a local hospital. MCSO said the driver had a BAC of .2.
