The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says a horse had to be put down after a crash in Laveen overnight into Monday.
The incident happened near 51st Avenue and Baseline Road.
MCSO says the horse hit the passenger side of the vehicle, and that crash would have been much worse if there was a second person inside.
The horse was looked at by a veterinarian but the decision was made to put it down because it had severe injuries.
