GOODYEAR, AZ - Three people have been arrested in connection to the vandalism of a church in Goodyear last week.
Lisa Kutis, spokeswoman of the Goodyear Police Department, said the three males, ranging in age from 18 to 21, were seen fleeing from an unoccupied home near Litchfield and Indian School Roads overnight on Oct. 17, 2013.
Officers arrested 21-year-old Stevon Gonzales, Jr., 19-year-old Cody James Heble, and 18-year-old Rodney Robinson in connection to the burglary and vandalism of the Desert Springs Community Church at 14440 Indian School Road in Goodyear. The church is located just east of where the suspects were found.
Kutis allege the three individuals spray painted "profanities and hate crime symbols" on the walls of the church, damaged walls and other property inside the building. Officers estimate the damage and stolen property at $40,000.
Officers said they found the three individuals to be in possession of items stolen from the church, including guitars and computer equipment, as well as similar spray paint.
Goodyear police believe an additional suspect is still outstanding.
