Police: Lockdown lifted at West Valley Hospital after shooting in nearby neighborhood

GOODYEAR, AZ - A hospital in Goodyear was placed on lockdown Tuesday evening after a nearby shooting killed a teenager and injured an adult.

Lt. Scott Benson with Goodyear police said the shooting occurred around 7:40 p.m. in a neighborhood near 160th Avenue and Pima Tuesday evening. The neighborhood is called Estrella Vista, he said.

Two victims--a 19-year-old and a 44 to 45-year-old--drove themselves to the Emergency Room at West Valley Hospital near Litchfield and McDowell roads, according to police.

Benson said the 19-year-old later died.

West Valley Hospital was placed on lockdown as a result of the shooting.

Authorities are looking for two male suspects in their late teens to early 20s. No other details were released.
