GOODYEAR, AZ - Drivers in the West Valley can now take advantage of a new connection between the Loop 303 and the Interstate 10.
Arizona Department of Transportation and several Arizona figures held an open house Saturday to celebrate the completion of that part of the project.
Visitors were invited to skate, bike, walk and enjoy the almost-opened roadway.
ADOT says crews opened two elevated ramps this morning, allowing part of the project to take shape.
The project, which began in 2011, is the first-ever direct connection between the Loop 303 and the Interstate 10, according to ADOT.
One of the ramps connects southbound Loop 303 to eastbound I-10. The second ramp attaches eastbound I-10 to a connection to northbound Loop 303.
Two more ramps are expected to open in the area by next month.
The project, according to ADOT, cost $145 million.
