GLENDALE, AZ - Social media is good for many things – staying in touch with friends, marketing your business and even catching the bad guys.
One Valley business is utilizing social media to help catch a couple of crooks.
John and Alice Roach own "White Eyes Fresh Fry Bread" in Glendale. It's both a restaurant, as well as a food truck business. A lot of their business comes from those food trucks parked in the back.
Well, John and Alice were preparing to work at a couple of events the weekend before Halloween when they noticed something was missing.
"We go out and John opens the trailer and the generators gone," said Alice.
"All of this equipment, $5,000 worth of equipment is gone," John said.
"How are we going to catch these guys?" Alice wondered.
The crooks were smart enough to break the lock and lug away the 400-plus pound generator, but they didn't take into consideration their surroundings.
"Well there's a nice little video camera system," said John
A neighboring business' surveillance camera was rolling at around 3 o'clock in the morning on October 26. In the video, you can see a man walk into the frame and look around before trying to open the truck doors.
"I first called the police and made the report and everything. Then I put it on Facebook," said Alice.
The team is hoping someone will recognize the man and contact the Glendale Police Department at 623-930-3000.
