GLENDALE, AZ - Officials are investigating after a head-on collision in Glendale on Tuesday morning.
According to Glendale police, the crash happened just before 5:00 a.m. near 99th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
When officials arrived to the scene they found the driver of a sedan trapped inside the vehicle. The 33-year-old man had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The driver in the pick-up truck, a 36-year-old Phoenix resident, was transported to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries, police said.
Officials are investigating the crash, no one else saw the crash and there were no passengers in the vehicles.
It is unknown what caused the collision. There is no word if impairment was a factor.
99th Avenue between Camelback and Bethany Home Road is now open, it was closed for several hours on Tuesday morning.
