GLENDALE, AZ - Several people have been taken to Valley hospitals after a multi-vehicle accident in Glendale Saturday night.
Glendale police say the accident happened just after 7 p.m. at 59th and Northern avenues.
A fire department official said an 18-year-old driver has extremely critical injuries as a result of the crash.
According to police, a gold sedan was traveling westbound on Northern Avenue when the driver ran a red light, hitting a red pickup traveling northbound on 59th Avenue.
Police say there was also a female passenger and two children in the sedan.
The pickup truck was driven by an adult male and had a female passenger.
All were taken to local hospitals.
A third vehicle was involved but it is unclear whether anyone was injured.
The intersection was closed for several hours.
