Glendale police search for hit-and-run driver

GLENDALE, AZ - The Glendale Police Department has a new description of the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday that sent a boy to a hospital.

Police believe a silver  2010 Buick Lacrosse sedan car hit 12-year-old Danny Frampton who was riding his bicycle just before 7 p.m. near 45th Avenue and Mountain View Road Tuesday night, according to police. The driver did not stop.

ABC15's Corey Rangel spoke with Frampton's mother, Isis Frampton, who said her son remains at Phoenix Children's Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit.

She is pleading for the person who hit her son to come forward.

"I just think its so cowardly for that person to leave a child, you know," Frampton said. "I know he saw he hit a kid. There's no way you hit someone at that speed and not know"

Neighbors in the area reportedly called 911 Tuesday evening, shortly after hearing the boy was struck.

"If they only knew the pain we're going through as a family - I just hope they come out," Frampton said.

The driver has only been identified as a white male, according to police.

Detectives do not have any leads at this time. No other details are available.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to call Glendale police at 623-930-3000 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS to remain anonymous.
