GLENDALE, AZ - It was 10:30 a.m. at the Ridge Point Apartment complex in Glendale when two men noticed a 1-year-old boy standing by the pool soaking wet.
Gene Lofton and John Perrotta, maintenance workers at the apartment complex, jumped over the pool fence and noticed another boy at the bottom of the pool.
The two young boys were playing around the pool when their toy Woody, a character from the movie Toy Story, fell into the pool. Three-year-old Seth jumped in to save Woody and quickly sank to the bottom of the pool.
John jumped into the pool, scooped Seth out of the water and put him onto the pool deck. Gene began administering CPR to Seth while John called paramedics. They worked perfectly as a team to bring Seth back to life. Seth was blue with little to no pulse when he was pulled out of the water.
Paramedics arrived and administered proper care to Seth and transported him to the hospital.
John and Gene, both heroes, were recognized by the City of Glendale Wednesday. Seth is doing great and his mother is very grateful to John and Gene for saving her son.
