Friends remember fallen Glendale officer

GLENDALE, AZ - A memorial has been set up at the apartment complex where a Glendale police officer was shot and mortally wounded Friday night.

Flowers, letters, and candles were brought by people in the community to pay tribute to the man who dedicated his life to protecting the streets of Glendale.

Jaclyne Tabuna, a friend of Jones, was at the memorial Sunday. She came out to the site because this was the last place Jones was before he died. She told ABC 15 that this loss has been tough on the department.

"It means a lot that those not even connected to the Glendale Police Department are showing their support and that they care for an officer that died protecting our community," Tabuna said.

Police say Jones was shot and killed by Ryan Heisler Friday night. Jones and an Adult Probation officer were meeting with Heisler when police say he pulled out a gun and started to shoot. Jones later died at the hospital. He was surrounded by family, friends and fellow officers.

Tabuna says Jones was a hard worker and dedicated to protecting the community and when he wasn't working he was dedicated to his family.

Jones leaves behind a wife and two children. An account has been set up for his family at the Arizona Federal Credit Union called the Bradley Jones Memorial Fund.
