Former PHX firefighter now chief in Glendale

The City of Glendale has appointed a new fire chief.

Glendale Fire announced on Tuesday that Terry Garrison has been appointed as fire chief after a nationwide search.

Garrison comes to Glendale from Houston where he served as fire chief since 2010.

Prior to Houston, Garrison was the Interim Fire Chief for Daisy Mountain Fire District, Fire Chief in Oceanside, California and served with the Phoenix Fire department for 30 years.

“Glendale is a vibrant city with a Fire department that has a 100-year history of state-of-the-art emergency services, combined with an exceptional level of customer service,” stated Chief Garrison. “I am humbled and privileged to join this team, and am looking forward toward an ongoing collaboration ."
