Saturday's soccer game at the University of Phoenix Stadium saw fewer heat-related issues than previous contests during the Copa America also hosted in Glendale.
Fire officials said five people were treated for heat-related illness symptoms ahead of the third-place match between the United States and Colombia.
Earlier this month, firefighters said a majority of 75 patients treated surrounding a matchup of Mexico and Uruguay were suffering from symptoms related to the summer heat.
Seven others also required medical attention at Saturday's game for issues not connected to heat illness.
Ahead of the game, the Glendale Fire Department issued a warning to fans, encouraging them to take several steps with the forecast high greater than 100 degrees:
- Outdoor activities or exercise should be avoided if attending the game or participating in tailgating activities.
- Wear hats, sunscreen and other clothing that will keep your skin protected from the sun.
- Caffeine, sugar and alcohol should be avoided when consumed in large amounts.
- Stay hydrated before, during and after the game.
- Do not leave anyone inside an unattended car.
